Welcome to Mentone Grammar
I am delighted to be joining Mentone Grammar as the School begins an exciting new century of outstanding education.
I am inspired by the School’s Mission ‘to provide students with a dynamic learning environment in which well-resourced and committed staff lead engaging academic, wellbeing and cocurricular programs.’ These three programs reflect the School’s commitment to providing a holistic education to enable every student to achieve their personal best.
This holistic education is framed by the School Values of Caring, Discipline, Endeavour, Integrity, Resilience, Respect and Service providing a strong, safe framework for students to live by both in and outside of School. These Values are at the core of all we do, as we appropriately challenge and inspire our students to be engaged and positively contributing members of their community.
Through my induction, I have spent time visiting each of the campuses and it has been a pleasure to meet so many of the dedicated staff across the School; expert, passionate educators all working together to provide the best possible education for our students.
I have observed the wonderful rapport between staff and students that is vital for our students to feel known, valued, heard, and celebrated for who they are. This respectful and inclusive environment helps create a genuine sense of belonging for every student that is fundamental to their physical and mental health, and critical to achieving personal success.
An environment of support
Across the School, students are offered a diverse breadth of subjects, together with enriching life experiences. At each age and stage, these opportunities are designed to promote a healthy balance between academic studies, personal interests, and experiential learning to support the development of self-confidence, resilience, leadership skills and more. From experience, I know that the creation of wonderful memories and life-long friendships are the result of engagement in the full spectrum of School life.
The best of both worlds
The inspired Together-Apart-Together coeducational model provides the best of both worlds for our young people, together with six age and stage campuses on one site. Our campus facilities continue to evolve and are the physical manifestation of the School’s commitment to a contemporary, future-focused education. I have seen for myself the quality of the learning and teaching in these safe, dynamic and engaging environments that have resulted in Mentone Grammar’s outstanding educational reputation.
The synergy of these many elements supports the holistic development of each student; their intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth that is so important for our Happy, Healthy and High Achieving young people.
