Board Member
Mentone Grammar welcomed Tony to the Board in 2024, following his retirement from Beaconhills College in 2021 after 25 years as Principal. As the father of a current staff member and grandfather of three current students, Tony is well-versed with our community.
Tony is a highly respected educator and has been a visionary leader. During his time at Beaconhills, the College grew into a large multi-campus school with significant building programs to accommodate the growth from 850 to more than 3200 students.
Following his retirement, Tony was asked to lead Trinity Anglican College in Albury until a new Principal was appointed. In addition, the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) offered him a part-time contract role as Director, VIC – NSW to support the work of its existing three schools and develop an Eastern states office, as well as a new Anglican school in Shepparton. Tony has been actively involved in educational leadership throughout his career and has held a number of board positions across both the Anglican and Independent schools’ networks.
In addition to his educational acumen, Tony brings a deep understanding of governance responsibilities having served on seven boards in the not-for-profit sector. He is currently Chair of Anglicare Victoria and recently joined the Board of the Victorian Independent Schools Block Grant Authority (VIS BGA).
Tony’s expertise in both governance and facilities development is a considerable asset to the Mentone Grammar Board as it continues to lead with integrity and foresight and actively reinvest in the future of the School.
