On Monday 12 August, a representative from Anglicare joined us at our Frogmore assembly to recognise our School’s contribution to the recent ‘FoodBoost’ food drive, organised by our dedicated student Social Service team.
Last term, our students collected non-perishable items, which were sorted and packaged by the Social Service team. Anglicare was truly overwhelmed by the incredible response, and we’re thrilled to announce that Mentone Grammar won Anglicare’s Per Student Donation Challenge, contributing the most items overall!
Anglicare shared, “Our new AV Aid Van was bursting at the seams when we collected food from Mentone Grammar! With over 85 enormous boxes and carry bags, the entire haul totalled around 4,000 items of food (give or take a pasta!). A special shout-out to the Year 12 Social Services Captains, Aimee S and Pippa D, for being the driving force behind this record-breaking donation.”
A massive thank you to our School community for your generosity! Your donations have already made a significant impact, filling Anglicare’s emergency relief sites and even reaching their Warrnambool ER site, where the pantries were bare.
