International Student Registration and Enrolment Process

Would you like more information?

If you have any queries or require further assistance, please contact the Enrolments Team:

Parent(s) or a Mentone Grammar approved Education Agent submits an online Registration for Enrolment with a $300 non-refundable registration fee and all required documentation including copy of AEAS results. You will need to complete one form per child.

PLEASE CONTACT US TO CHECK AVAILABILITY PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR ENTRY FROM 2023 – 2025. PLACES ARE VERY LIMITED.

IMPORTANT: Acceptance of your registration will place your child on our waitlist – this DOES NOT guarantee an enrolment; places are in extremely high demand and offered according to waitlist priorities, date of application, and at the Principal’s discretion.

Please ensure you retain a copy of the payment receipt.

The Enrolment Team will review the Registration form and supporting information to determine whether the student meets the entry requirements to study at Mentone Grammar. Application assessment cannot commence until all required documents are received – to avoid unnecessary delays, ensure all required documents are provided. This includes completion of an AEAS English Language test.

  • We require a minimum AEAS score of 50 (intermediate) and stanine score of 5 (average) to apply

If there is a place available and all documentations is received, the School will issue a Provisional Letter of Offer and invoice for fees payable. Offers are conditional upon the student reaching the required English proficiency.

To accept the terms and conditions of the Provisional Offer, a signed written agreement and full payment of the invoice must be received within 30 days.

Following receipt of the acceptance letter and payment, you will receive the following documents:

  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) Letter
  • Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) Letter (if applicable)

Students applying for a visa must apply to the Department of Immigration and Boarder Protection (DIBP) office. For information on how to apply for a visa and visa requirements, visit DIBP website:

We also suggest international families use a Mentone Grammar approved Education Agent to assist you with lodging the visa application.

Once the student has reached English Language Proficiency requirements, they are invited to attend an enrolment interview with the Head of Campus.

We require a minimum AEAS score of 70 (upper intermediate) and stanine score of 5 (average) to attend a pre-enrolment interview. The English Language School (ELICOS) Report will form part of this assessment.

Additional school-based testing in Mathematics and English may be required.

The School issues a final Letter of Offer.

To accept the terms and conditions of the Offer, a signed written agreement must be received within 14 days. Families will then be contacted by the School with details of the student’s orientation and commencement.

Please ensure you retain a copy of the written agreement.

Homestay accommodation students must provide arrival details at least two weeks prior to the welfare commencement date specified on the Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) letter.

New student orientation programs are organised for all new students. They are tailored to each Year level (Campus) and have a focus on familiarising new students with the School, its programs, other students in the Year level and school routines.

We also offer additional International Student Orientation programs to provide more intensive and individualised information covering many of the aspects of studying, not only in a new school, but also a new education system and country, often without the support of parents. These programs are designed to help students fully participate in the academic and co-curricular programs offered by the School and help create a smooth transition.

New students are given information about the School’s support services and have the opportunity to meet the staff who can provide academic and wellbeing support. Students also learn about the structure of the School, study courses, expectations, learning goals and outcomes.
