Twenty Mentone Grammar families gathered in the Function Centre to welcome a group of twenty visiting students from Nagoya High School, our partner school in Japan. The students, with us for a 10 day exchange visit, were accompanied by their teachers, Mr Misatoand Mr Suzuki. Our visitors were then welcomed formally at Bayview assembly. Apart from attending classes with their host brothers and sisters, the program for their visit included a sports competition on Monday afternoon, a barbeque lunch on Thursday with a party planned for Friday evening. Exchange visits such as this provide in-valuable opportunities for our students, not just to practise the language they have been learning in the classroom, but also to begin to build friendships across the world. The School is particularly grateful to the Mentone Families who have so generously hosted our visitors during their stay.
