A Thorold Hall finale to remember!

Published: Tuesday, 26 June 2012

Thorold Hall had its final performance ever for the 2012 Winter Concert!

Presented by Music students from all across the School, along with the Units 3/4 Theatre Class, the night was definitely one to remember. The evening kicked off with the School Jazz Band, Froggers, performing The Haitian Fight Song featuring solos from band members Cameron McIntyre, Dhamsara Samarapathi, Jayson Broadway, Gabe Brazil-Cornish and Nick Meehan.

The night displayed many other amazing performances such as the Eblana Singers with Razzle Dazzle, the Bayview Orchestra performed How to Train Your Dragon, the Staff Choir with Toto’s Afrika and then finished with a joint performance from the Senior School Orchestra and the Senior Choir belting out their amazing take on Lionel Richie’s hit, All Night Long.

Some of the highlights would have to have been Papercut’s performance of Everybody Knows by McFly – so amazing in fact that they had the audience cheering for One More – and then the Senior Orchestra’s Medley of Godzilla Eats Las Vegas.

An extra big thanks to the Performing Arts Staff and all students, past and present, for putting together such a memorable night. As always, we thank Artissimo for its loyal support and front-of-house welcome with popcorn and fairy floss!

From our musicians dressed as ghosts and ghouls to hearing heart-warming solos from Vocalists such as Lottie Morison, Josh Erdelyi-GÖtz, Kelsey Cotton, Zac Hooper and Emily Pratt; the night was definitely the best way to say farewell to our beloved Thorold Hall.

“Thanks to Thanu Moulton for this article, and his co-host, Kelsey Cotton for their outstanding efforts on the night,” said Mr Gavin Cornish, Head of Performing Arts.
