Benefactor's Scholarship - Year 7 2014

A generous Old Mentonian is offering a Scholarship for a Year 7 student commencing at Mentone Grammar in 2014. Current Mentone Grammar students are ineligible for this Scholarship. This Scholarship covers 100% of the Tuition Fees. Fee details can be found here.

Based on the criteria set out by the Old Mentonian, applicants must be able to prove that:

1. They would not normally be able to afford a Mentone Grammar education without the assistance of this Scholarship. Means testing documents will be required once initial folios are reviewed.

2. That they are performing highly in their school assessments and NAPLAN Tests.

3. That they are swimming to a minimum standard of top five at State Level.

4. That they are making the most of their current educational opportunities.

5. This opportunity is not available to current students.

Students wishing to apply must forward a folio including:

1. Two most recent School Reports.

2. Years 3 and 5 NAPLAN Test results.

3. A detailed folio of swimming achievements including reference of current coach and details of current training schedule.

4. The students should handwrite a statement of their goals both educationally and for their swimming program.

5. Details of other achievements thus far.

6. A reference from their current Class Teacher and Principal attesting to their character and likelihood of ongoing success.

The successful student will be required to maintain high levels of academic and swimming performance throughout their time at Mentone Grammar. Students are expected to remain at Mentone Grammar until the end of Year 12. Students who leave the School before the end of Year 12, except in exceptional circumstances, will be required to refund the Scholarship value.

Folios must reach Reception at Mentone Grammar, 63 Venice Street, Mentone, no later than 5pm on Friday 26 July, 2013. No late applications will be accepted.

Annual Scholarship testing at Mentone Grammar

ACER Testing for Academic and General Excellence Scholarships is held every year at Mentone Grammar, usually in February, for entry to Mentone Grammar the following year. Auditions for Music and Performing Arts Scholarships are also held around this time. Online registrations usually open in late October of the year prior to testing date.  Further details will be available on this page closer to the time.
