Music is a key part of life at Mentone Grammar. Students may participate in choirs, ensembles, concert bands, jazz bands and orchestra.

Special events are enhanced by performances from choirs and ensembles presenting music from across the musical spectrum. Individual instrumental tuition is available in addition to the class instrumental lessons offered in the different levels of the School. Expert tuition from music tutors is provided in the following instruments: piano, strings, woodwind, brass, voice, guitar and percussion. Students are also able to experiment with and develop music using technology.

Performance opportunities include assemblies, external festivals and competitions, several annual concerts, and special school events.
